Gina + Bryan (sneak peek)

I had the pleasure of photographing Gina and Bryan’s beautiful wedding this past Sunday at the beautiful Standing Boy Creek Farms. It was a chill, early Sunday wedding with a mimosa bar! Here’s a few shots of the happy couple enjoying a few moments together before the reception entrance. Full post coming soon!

Thomas + Danielle

I first met Thomas and Danielle last year. Danielle actually found me through instagram, I believe. She contacted me for a portrait session of their one-year wedding anniversary. We headed out to the beautiful Franklin Mountains in El Paso. It happened to be one of the windiest and most overcast days out of El Paso’s 300-something days of apparent sunshine! Lucky us! Even though we had several hair bloopers thanks to the wind, we ended up getting some really beautiful images to celebrate their first anniversary together. They even brought their two doggies to jump in some pictures.

This all brings me to my latest session with Thomas and Danielle a couple weeks ago, which was their maternity session! They didn’t know it at the time, but they were pregnant with their first baby, a little girl that they named Ellis!

We found a surprisingly green and pretty cool park in El Paso and lucky us again, it was super windy and overcast! I guess it wouldn’t be a “Thomas and Danielle” session if the weather was cooperating. Fortunately, the over cast worked out beautifully again and we got some really beautiful shots of the parents-to-be!

Enjoy!

Megan + Davis

Not quite an engagement session since they’d be married in 3 days! But it kinda was, because the only session they had for their engagement was taken by Megan’s 12 year old brother, JP. (Who actually did a pretty good job!) Haha!

This was actually the first time I had met Megan and Davis in person before I shot their wedding! They booked me while I was in El Paso and it unfortunately didn’t work out to where we could meet I flew into town for the big day. Despite the distance, it all worked out.

After being in the brown/orange sand box of El Paso (Just kidding! I love you, El Paso, but let’s be honest its not green like Georgia!) It was really nice driving through the winding green canopy roads through Harris County to her parents house.

I found them out in a field by this awesome old horse barn that her parents, Mark and Debbie, own. Mark and Debbie were actually just about to take two of the horses for a little trail ride as I got there.

So, we began shooting and getting to know each other a bit. The old barn was just the kind of thing I love to shoot in. Old, dirty, worn down, well loved. It made the perfect background for a country engagement session.

Megan wore and beautiful lace cream colored dress with cowboy boots of course! And Davis, looked like a true Southern gentleman in his jeans and laid back, white linen shirt. The setting sunlight, overgrown super green grass and laid back atmosphere all came together perfectly.

No country session would be complete without sitting on the front porch of a log cabin, swinging in a tire swing or climbing a tree! Luckily, we had three!

Enjoy!

for good measure…here’s a horsey.

Vikas + Lisi

untitled-3875-2 copyblogI’ve been friend’s with Vikas for a long time now. I think we met probably about 6 or 7 years ago when he came into Houlihans, where I worked at the time. Flash forward years later, I was his wine rep when I worked at National Distributing Co. I’d come in every week and try to sell him the new wines which he would rarely take me up on! He’s a stubborn one, but even though he rarely bought what I was pushing we always had a great time sampling and talking about life.

Not long after I was his rep, he met Lisi! I had the pleasure of meeting her one night at LV Bar & Grill and right off the bat I thought she was the sweetest girl and Vikas had a real winner! They couldn’t be more different, but it works for them. She puts up with his stubborn ways and he compromises for her. As he should. 😉

All in one week they announced that they were going to have a little bundle of joy on the way as well as tying the knot!

On my last visit to Columbus, I had a beer with them one night at B-dubs (Buffalo Wild Wings) and they of course invited me to the wedding ceremony. Fortunately, I was going to be in town, so I agreed to also give them so great pictures as well!

Originally, the ceremony would be at the courthouse and I’d be shooting the reception at Vikas’ Cajun restaurant, Cafe Le Rue. Luckily, the brides uncle is a pastor and was able to perform the ceremony for them right at the restaurant!

So amongst, mostly Lisi’s family (because most of Vikas’ family lives in India) and among the New Orleans decor the two were wed. It was a quaint, stress free ceremony. (I wish all weddings could be like that!)

Lisi looked beautiful in her short carefree wedding dress, that showed off her silver sparkle heels! Vikas looked handsome in his suit and green silk tie.

I’m so glad that I was able to be there for them to capture it. I always want people to have beautiful wedding pictures and I’m so glad I could give them that!

They’re currently enjoying their honeymoon in Biloxi, Mississippi! Lisi is in the sun and Vikas is hiding in the shade. Haha! I’m wishing you two a wonderful honeymoon and long happy marriage!

Check out the images below from their wedding day. 🙂
